I am a certified nutritionist specialist (CNS) with a Master of Science in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine and a GGS Menopause Coaching Specialist certification.
I am also a (recently) postmenopausal wife, mother of 3 adult kids and support human for our lab Kodi.
This passion became a calling when my family began dealing with diagnoses of Crohn’s disease, celiac disease, heart disease, ADD, and anxiety, and I saw how nutrition and lifestyle changes played a pivotal role in their health journey. It eventually lead me back to graduate school and to private practice.
There, I found, time and time again, women clients were seeking functional support for hormone issues, gut issues, weight gain…you name it…but so much of it circled back to the same root cause: the hormone changes brought on by MENOPAUSE.
The irony wasn’t lost on me when I started having many of the same issues (and a few new ones!) myself. And, I found that even though we all know it’s coming, we are given so little education (including me) and often suffer needlessly (yep, me too).
I was determined to fill in my own knowledge gaps about the phases of menopause and how to best navigate them from a nutrition and lifestyle approach. Turns out, there was a lot more to know and now I hope to share it all with you!
